Sam Houston Equestrian Center has a 2,500 sq. ft. party room which can be used for any special occasion, such as birthday parties or scout groups. The party room has large windows overlooking riding arena, a sink, a refrigerator, a microwave and a television. Decorations are allowed, but please no piñatas or confetti. Take a look at our photo gallery of our facilities. Sam Houston Equestrian Center is a No Smoking Facility. Smoking is prohibited anywhere on the property. In addition, no alcoholic beverages are allowed on the premises.

The price for a Pony Party is $300 for 10 riders as of September 1 of 2008. Parties booked with a deposit before that date are at the previous rate of $250. Additional riders may be added at $20 each. If you have a gift certificate with the old price of $250. for ten, we will honor it. For reasons behind the price increase please go here.

Your group will have access to the party facilities for 2 hours. Riders have outdoor activities during the first hour. Half the group rides for 20-25 minutes, while the second half goes on a tour of the barn. Don't forget to bring carrots and cameras. Later, the second group rides while the first group tours. Late arrivals ride in the second group. The train may be added to the festivities outdoors. $20 per group of 12 youngsters. After riding, the host has the party room for 1 hour to serve refreshments to guests. Please be aware that on Saturday there are two parties. Please leave the party room ready for the next host and hostess. Stable staff will provide help if needed.

In order to book a party e-mail info@hermannparkstables.com to request a specific Saturday or Sunday. Include your name, phone number and the number of riders you expect at your party. After receiving confirmation that your date is available, send your non-refundable $50.00 deposit to hold your date. Dates cannot be held without a deposit. Pony Party Certificates act as a deposit. Be aware that changing a party date adds $25.00 to your total unless you give us at least two weeks notice.

Riders should wear long pants, not shorts, and sturdy "outdoor" shoes – no sandals or canvas shoes. All riders must wear a helmet. Bring a bicycle helmet if you have one. Helmets are available for those who do not own one. Sam Houston Equestrian Center has a covered arena and parties are not cancelled due to rain. Please dress children for the outdoors while they ride.

All children riding must have a release filled out by a parent or guardian before they get on a horse. Release Form in PDF format.
