Like most Houstonians, Sam Houston Equestrian Center will shelter in place during the storm. The horses will be fine, snug in their stalls and high above any water. The drainage at the barn is very good. Even during tropical storms, the horses will be fine. Today Thursday and Friday, staff will be getting everything moveable under cover. Plans at present include a closure on Saturday.

Since many people plan to evacuate and traffic on roads will be congested, students are advised to call if they feel they need to cancel. No classes on Saturday and Sunday is a "wait and see".
